Beejay, Knysna’s friendliest taxi driver, called me to say that he couldn’t get to me because of that tree that had fallen in Welbedacht. I asked him if he’d wait for me to walk to him which he kindly said he would.
First, a sudden gale force wind turned my umbrella upside down and then i had to carry that, my shoes, laptop and my camera through the new river in the road, past a queue of stopped cars, past a chainsaw and through the tree’s limbs to get into the cab which then had to make a series of awkward moves to turn around.
Salt River very, very muddy, a state that had grown about 100m into the Knysna Estuary.
Considering where i was headed to connect to you, you could call that all a “Wimpy Moment” 🙂
