A silent auction of classic cars in Knysna in the Southern Cape has netted millions of rands.
The auction took place during the annual Knysna Motor Show which was hosted by the Garden Route Motor Club.
Among the 24 classic cars on auction, were Ford, Packard, Bentley and a Rolls Royce. Around R25 000 of the proceeds from the auction will go towards local charities.
The Garden Route Motor Club’s Peter Pretorius says, “It’s really a charity show. The funds that we raise here is for hospice, animal welfare and e’pap which is a children’s feedi
ng scheme here in our area. So our drive here really is where we go out on a good show, attract the public and the funds generated from here we distribute to those three charities.”
