The most unique fine-dining experience in Knysna is with Albin & Jenny Kilzer, owners of Kilzer’s Kitchen, the cooking school, and Guadaloupe Self-Catering. The are only open once per week, on Wednesday evenings, so feel special and be sure to book!

The evening is called  “YOU LOOK, WE COOK”. The evening begins with a tot of Jenny’s Gin (strawberries, gin and fresh lavender) and then Albin and Jenny prepare a 3-course dinner in front of the diners. Literally, in front – you’re invited into the kitchen whereby they run through the ingedients and the 3-course meal that is ahead. Add Jenny’s jokes to this hand-on experience, and fine dining is quick to become festive. The kitchen is sunken, below the dining level, so you can keep an eye on the process whilst you enjoy each course.

During the week, cooking lessons for small groups are available. Conferences with 40 or less participants can be booked for as well.

Directions: Coming from George, on the N2, turn left up Lloyd Street. Go up Lloyd Street for about 100 metres. At the T-junction, follow the signs for “Guadeloupe Self-Catering” all the way to the top of the hill & turn left, down into Roos Bolton Crescent – find them in cul de sac at no’s. 3 & 5 Roos Bolton Crescent.
